Bournemouth, alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers, are leading the chase for Southampton striker Che Adams.
According to Alan Nixon, the Scotland international wants to move away from the Saints following their relegation to the Championship last season.
Southampton would want over £10million for the 27-year-old, despite Adams being in the last year of his contract. He cost them £15million just four years ago when he signed for the club from Birmingham City.
Adams has made 145 appearances for the Saints since signing from Birmingham, scoring 31 goals and registering 15 assists during that time, but was ultimately unable to help the Saints in their bid for survival last season.
Beginning his career in non-league, Adams’ path to the Premier League began with Oadby Town as a 16-year-old.
He made 33 appearances in the United Counties League, 27 of which came as a starter, and scored five times before signing for Ilkeston Town in the Northern Premier League the following campaign.

Another successful season followed as he made 40 league appearances for the Robins, scoring nine times and lifting the Derbyshire Senior Cup before he was on the move again.
Sheffield United, who were in League One at the time, beat off a host of sides from higher divisions to complete the signing of Adams on a two-year deal. He had soon signed a new three-year contract with the Blades after continuing to impress, but it was not enough to stop the Blues from snatching the youngster for a reported fee of £2million in 2016.
It was at St. Andrews where his career really kicked off. He scored 38 goals and assisted a further 13 in 123 appearances for the Blues prior to making his Premier League switch.
He received his first call up to the Scotland squad in 2021 and has since been capped 23 times, finding the net on six occasions.
Is Adams the man?
Now 27 years of age, Adams has plenty of top flight and international experience and could prove to be a very tidy addition for the Cherries should they strike a deal.
Bournemouth currently have three striker options on their books; Dominic Solanke, Kieffer Moore and Antoine Semenyo.
The trio have just 15 Premier League goals between them, so signing a proven top flight striker could be just the boost needed for the Cherries to survive the drop again next season.
