Bournemouth forward, Antoine Semenyo has been discussing his side’s upcoming EFL Cup game against Stoke City.

Semenyo signed for the Cherries in January and has had an up-and-down time so far with the club.

This season started well with a goal against Liverpool, at Anfield, but has only started three Premier League games.

When he has played he has impressed as a general rule, but with Dango Outtara back, there is a lot of competition.

What has Antoine Semenyo said?

Stoke City travel to the Vitality in the EFL Cup with a place in the round of 16 up for grabs on the night.

On their opponents, the Ghanaian said: “I know that they’re going to come and try and rough us up a little.

“We just need to play our game, keep the ball, run them down and be clinical at the end of the day.”

Not having a win as of yet, in the Premier League, will see the cup take even further importance as Andoni Iraola looks to build form.

Semenyo believes there are no guarantees: “I think every game is a tough game, whether it’s in the Prem or the Champ.

“They’re going to be tough. But we just need to play our game, like we usually do, and knock them out, win the game. That’s it.”

As previously mentioned, the forward has made few starts this season. 250 minutes is all he has managed despite his first games looking positive.

He sees this as a chance: “I think personally for me it is an opportunity.

“I’d love to be in and amongst the goals, show that I’m worthy to be starting. But I feel like that comes with every game.”

The former Bristol City man is electric at times and has an eye for goal that is for sure.

Continuing on his own mindset, he added: “I feel like I’ve just got to be ready, whether I’m starting or on the bench, I’ve just got to be ready.

“When I come on, do my thing, if I start, make sure I do my thing.”

A chance against the Potters for the Cherries man to prove himself to his manager it seems.
