Bournemouth should consider trying to sign Divock Origi this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, writing on his Twitter page, Divock Origi is available this summer as AC Milan have left the striker out of their pre-season tour squad.

Origi joined the Italian giants on a free transfer last summer, but struggled to find form for the club, and managed just two strikes in Serie A last season. Prior to joining AC Milan, the 28-year-old spent seven seasons on the books with Liverpool, netting 41 times. Whilst he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter for the Reds, he scored some vital goals for the club and became a fan favourite at Anfield.

Upon his departure from Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp sang Origi’s praises. As quoted by the club’s official website, the Liverpool boss said, “he is, and will be for me, forever a Liverpool legend [and] one of the most important players I ever had…an outstanding player…he is a Liverpool legend, no doubt.”

Given the Belgian’s availability, Bournemouth should act now to bring Origi back to the Premier League.

Why Bournemouth should sign Origi

Bournemouth did brilliantly to survive in the top flight last season. However, new boss Andoni Iraola will be keenly aware that the Cherries often struggled for goals. Striker Dominic Solanke only managed six goals over the course of the campaign.

Origi is a clinical finisher and would help to share the goalscoring burden. The 32-cap Belgium international would thrive off of the service provided by the likes of Marcus Tavernier and Philip Billing, and would give Bournemouth an extra dimension in attack.
