Bournemouth planning to sell three players by deadline day

Bournemouth are planning a major fire sale.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Bournemouth are hoping to move on three players in what remains of the transfer window. Jamal Lowe, Gavin Kilkenny, and Kieffer Moore are all players who could be moved on. However, these departures may be delayed until deadline day.

Having brought several new faces to the Vitality Stadium this summer, Andoni Iraola certainly needs to trim down his squad. Lowe, Kilkenny, and Moore are players that the Cherries will feel they can cope without.

There should be plenty of interest from potential suitors in the trio of unwanted Bournemouth players. The Cherries will be hoping to generate some useful funds from these departures. The sales would also represent another instance of the club backing Iraola to mould this squad in his image.

If the club can offload these players quicker than they perhaps anticipate, it may even trigger them to bring in another new signing before the window shuts.

Who Bournemouth are looking to sell

Despite Iraola having previously suggested that Kilkenny could feature this season, having worked hard to impress throughout pre-season, realistically the Irish midfielder doesn’t have the quality to contribute for the Cherries in the Premier League.

Equally, Lowe spent last season loan in the Championship with QPR and has no future with the south coast club. At 29-years-old, the winger needs regular football and a permanent move away from Bournemouth would make the most sense at this stage.

There is a strong argument for why Iraola should keep Moore at the club. Whilst the 6’5” target man isn’t a natural fit for the Spanish coach’s preferred style of play, he offers an alternative route to goal. Moore can be something of a secret weapon for the Cherries. The 31-year-old Welshman gives Iraola the option to try a different attacking approach when his side are struggling to create chances.
