Bournemouth are interested in signing Joaquin Correa from Inter Milan as he falls out of favour at San Siro.

The Argentine forward looks to be making a move as Inter have made signings in his position, appearing to replace him.

He has struggled for game time since joining from Lazio in 2021.

Last season he made just 12 league starts, paired with 14 appearances off the bench. Scoring three and assisting one in that time.

Reports from FC Inter News suggest Inter will let him go.

Who is Joaquin Correa?

Starting his career in Argentina with Estudiantes, he made his debut in 2012.

In December 2014, Sampdoria had a £10 million bid accepted and Correa signed a four and a half year deal.

A season and a half in Serie A, he made 31 appearances and scored three goals before a move to Sevilla.

A £13 million move to La Liga saw the Argentine’s first opportunity to play Champions League football.

Scoring his first goal in the competition against Leicester City in the round of 16.

After 47 games and five goals, Lazio spent £16 million on the midfielder.

This is where he had the most fruitful spell of his career making nearly 100 appearances in over four years.

He was heavily involved in the side that won the 2018/19 Coppa Italia, scoring the goal that knocked out AC Milan in the semi final.

He scored in the final against Atalanta as Lazio won the first trophy of his career.

A move to Inter was next, first on loan and then on a three year deal.

He has won two Coppa Italia’s in his time with the Nerazzurri and achieved a runners up medal in the Champions League.

He was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America in 2021, but wasn’t called up to the 2022 World Cup squad.

Should Bournemouth sign Joaquin Correa?

The Cherries are going head to head with Torino and Real Betis for his signature.

The prospect of playing in a new league may help get this signing over the line.

Andoni Iraola is reported to be looking for attacking reinforcements for his side, particularly for a number ten.

Correa likes to get on the ball and dribble, holding onto possession being one of the strongest aspects of his game.

On the counter attack he could be of great use, driving the Cherries forward and creating chances.

He fits in with Iraola’s style of play, having defensive capabilities being able to press from the front.

With Inter looking to sell the midfielder, a fee around £10 million could be found.

That kind of fee would represent good value in todays market as the Cherries look up the league.

A great option for Bournemouth if they can get it over the line.
