Bournemouth are set to make a bid for Leicester City striker, Patson Daka. A loan offer has already been turned down by the Foxes.

The Cherries may be looking for options should Dominic Solanke leave the club, with West Ham United heavily interested.

The Zambian hasn’t been involved in a matchday squad since the start of the season due to the uncertainty around his future.

Daka joined the Foxes in 2021 for £23 million and gone onto score 15 goals in 74 games.

It appears that Leicester are looking to recoup as much as they can, if not manage to make profit on the striker.

Should Bournemouth sign Patson Daka?

It is unclear whether this move is to replace Solanke or to add competition to the squad.

If the move is completed and the Englishman remains at the Vitality, it could prove to be a good piece of business.

Daka is a pacey striker who likes to get in behind and cause trouble.

He would offer a different point of attack to Solanke, that is for sure.

If the ball is in the air, the former Liverpool striker is your man, with the Zambian isn’t very adept at heading the ball generally.

His speed and intensity allows him to press from the front and make tackles.

This would suit the style that Andoni Iraola is trying to play well and hopefully the goals would come with consistent game time.

At £25 million, for an unproven Premier League striker, who has faltered in the league, seems like a lot.

There is a shortage of strikers in the market currently and as a result, losing Solanke could be detrimental to the season.

Daka provides a different option but another Leicester striker, Kelechi Iheanacho may be a more like for like player.

It would be a large fee for the Zambian and for that fee may not be worth the gamble.
