Marcus Tavernier has been heaping praise on new signing, Milos Kerkez for his performances since signing for Bournemouth.

Kerkez signed for the club this summer, signing from AZ Alkmaar for a fee in the region of £15 million, a large fee for a teenager.

The left back started his senior career with Gyor in Hungary, making 16 appearances before being poached by AC Milan.

A year in Italy saw the Hungarian picked up by AZ where he went on to play 33 first team matches last season, plus nine for Jong AZ.

His performances for his new club saw many eyes look at the defender with Portuguese giants, Benfica interested over the summer.

In spite of this interest the Cherries won the race to sign the highly rated youngster.

He has played every available minute for his new club so far, gaining a lot of plaudits, including teammate Tavernier.

What has Marcus Tavernier said about Milos Kerkez?

The Englishman signed for Bournemouth last season, signing from Middlesbrough on a five year deal.

So far he has made 24 appearances and scored five for the Cherries, even signing a new deal to keep him at the club until 2028.

Speaking about his teammate, Kerkez, he said: “He’s a mad man! He’s great, I love that guy to pieces.

“He brings a lot of energy to the team when it’s quiet and stuff.”

The teenager is clearly a presence in the dressing room at the Vitality, even as a new signing and at 19-years old.

On his integration into the squad he said: “He has come into the team and been great. I’m just hoping he can continue his form and continue playing well.

“He’s a great guy and I’m happy for him.”

You would imagine a teenager in yet another country, with a new team would be timid but this isn’t the case at all with Kerkez.

On his first week, Tavernier said: “When he first came in, the first two days, you’d think he’d been here five years and he’s the oldest player in the team.”

It is clear that he has settled in well and his performances are clear proof of that.
