Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola has come out in support of his team suggesting that a first win is coming.

Since taking over from Gary O’Neil over the summer, the Spaniard has yet to pick up a Premier League win as manager.

Five games in the Cherries have managed to pick up three points in five games, suffering defeat just twice at the hands of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Last time out, at home a 0-0 draw to Chelsea looks good on paper. After 13 shots and a big chance during the game, there were opportunities.

At different points throughout the games, the home side had great chances and possession but just couldn’t convert.

What has Andoni Iraola said?

Despite not winning any games, there are many positives to take moving forward.

When asked about their chances of winning, he said: “Yes, especially these last two games.

“Especially the other day against Brentford. We were really, really close. We couldn’t add the three points at the end.”

Iraola is positive about his situation: “What gives you the jump in the table, the three points we have to keep pushing.”

The amount of possession that Chelsea was afforded obviously annoyed the Cherries boss.

On that point, he said: “Even if they were more time on the ball, they were having the ball not in dangerous areas, especially.

“It’s not that if they feel the pressure, they are going to just kick it long. No, they assume the pressure.”

Another tough test in Brighton and Hove Albion comes next but Iraola just need to continue pushing forward.
