Nicolas Jackson was heavily linked to Bournemouth in January, but following a move to Chelsea, Paul Merson believes he will do well.
Jackson joined the Blues this summer in a deal worth a reported £32 million from Villareal.
The Senegalese joined the Spanish side in 2020, first appearing for their B team and making 25 appearances.
He made his first appearance for Villareal’s first team in October 2021 and went onto make a further 34 appearances.
12 goals in that period temped sides into enquiring over his signature.
The Cherries had a bid for Jackson accepted in the region of £22 million, but after a failed medical, the deal was called off.
Following this he went on to score nine goals in La Liga, resulting in Chelsea securing his signature.

What has Paul Merson said about Nicolas Jackson?
The forward has scored once so far in his five games under Mauricio Pochettino.
Following a poor miss, last time out, against Nottingham Forest, there has been some questions over the Senegal international.
Despite this, Merson believes that he will come good at Stamford Bridge.
The former Arsenal, Aston Villa and Portsmouth man has featured on a pundit on sky for many years.
On Jackson, he said: “Nicolas Jackson has shown flashes of his brilliance and could cause major problems for opposition teams.
“Once he’s finished adapting to his new surroundings.”
Who knows what could have been with the forward at Bournemouth.
He is doing well so far at Chelsea, but will be looking to add more goals to his tally.
With his new side travelling to the Vitality this weekend, he could seek to show the Cherries what they missed out on.
A partnership with Dominic Solanke could have been something special.
