Three under 21 talents included in Premier League squad number list. James Hill, Owen Bevan and Nathan Moriah-Welsh taking 23, 35 and 39 respectively.

Following a successful season last season, the Cherries are going into this Premier League season with higher expectations than just survival.

With new signings aplenty, including £20 million for youngster Alex Scott, there is still a clear path for under 21 players to make it to the first team.

What could these three add to the Andoni Iraola’s squad?

What does James Hill offer?

Hill spent the second half of last season on loan at Hearts in the Scottish Premier League where he made ten appearances.

He signed for Bournemouth from Fleetwood in January 2022 and is yet to make a competitive, first team appearance. Could this year see him given a chance?

A centre half who is comfortable on the left or right side. He is adept at playing out from the back which may make him desirable.

He will be competing alongside plenty of other central defenders for a spot in the starting 11.

At 20 years of age, new signing. Illia Zabarnyi is proof that Iraola is willing to put his trust in youth at the back.

What does Owen Bevan offer?

Bevan has had multiple loan spells away from the Vitality with Truro City and most recently, Yeovil Town.

He made 31 appearances in the National League as Yeovil were relegated.

He has already made his debut for the Cherries first team, coming off the bench in the Premier League last season, before his loan.

Another centre back on this list, he differs however as he can play as a right back.

At 19-years-old he may be out on another loan move in the future but, at the time of writing, he has the chance to be part of a Premier League squad.

What does Nathan Moriah-Welsh offer?

Moriah-Welsh completes this list and also spent last campaign out on loan.

A loan to Newport County saw him make 38 appearances and score three goals from midfield.

The Guyana International is a central midfielder who is more defensive minded as a general rule.

He likes to receive the ball and dribble out from the back, but is also very happy playing long raking balls over the top of defences.

Not afraid to get into a tackle, Moriah-Welsh could be an option off the bench as the Cherries look to see games out.

All three of these players could contribute to Bournemouth’s season in some way, loans away may continue their development.

Premier League game time on a regular basis could be even more beneficial.
