Bournemouth have been linked to Tottenham Hotspur defender Eric Dier this summer who has been involved in a contract showdown for months.
Dier is back in training and has posted an Instagram post showing fans that he is back.
There have been reports that a new contract is being discussed but at a slow pace which is leaving the England International frustrated.
He appeared happy enough in his post, but who knows what is going on behind closed doors.
What has Eric Dier said?
Speaking to Football London, Dier has discussed this issue from his point of view.
Despite reports of unhappiness from different outlets, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

Discussing the prospect of his new deal, he said: “These kinds of things are something that involves other people. So there needs to be mutuality there. I can’t speak for the other side.”
He has said that he plans on being at Tottenham this season: “Yeah, I’m planning on being here.
“I can control what I can control. I can control playing well, being fit, training well, playing well.”
Rumours linking him away from the club, paired with some question of his character on social media may have had an effect on the defender.
He didn’t see it that way however: “Many people might say they don’t care, I’m telling you I genuinely don’t care! I don’t read it. You’d have to tell me.
“Yesterday we did an appearance with some kids and they asked how we deal with the pressure of social media and all that stuff. The answer for me is really simple. You don’t look at it and then it doesn’t exist in your mind. That’s what I do and then I don’t care.”
Should Bournemouth sign Eric Dier?
The 29-year old has unbelievable experience of the Premier League with Spurs, making 361 appearances for the North Londoner.
This paired with 49 England caps including multiple tournaments, he would represent a great addition to the squad.
With a year left on his contract and Ange Postecoglou seemingly having Dier at the back of his mind, signing him on the cheap could be well worth it.
With youngsters Illia Zabarnyi, James Hill and Milos Kerkez playing minutes this season, an experienced head could be ideal.
The downside to signing Dier could be his wages, disrupting what seems to be a settled squad.
The Englishman’s weekly wage sits at just under £100,000, meaning he would be the most paid Cherries player by £20,000, which isn’t going to work.
If he agrees to take a wage cut to come in line with the structure at the club this signing makes complete sense.
Otherwise, it could be a risk which could go one way or another.
