Fulham have joined West Ham United in the pursuit of Bournemouth striker, Dominic Solanke. A bid of £40 million was already rejected earlier in the window.

It has been reported that Solanke is the Cottagers replacement for Alexander Mitrovic who left for Saudi Arabian side, Al Hilal.

Marco Silva’s side are unlikely to match the bid tabled by West Ham meaning a move isn’t so likely.

After receiving over £40 million for their Serbian striker, the Cherries can hold out for a higher bid from the West Londoners.

There are reports that are swaying Andoni Iraola’s side towards rejecting any advances.

What is happening with Dominic Solanke?

The striker signed from Liverpool in 2019 and has had a top four years at the Vitality.

Jurgen Klopp signed Solanke on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2017 and after a flawed spell, he was sold.

The Reds clearly saw the potential of the forward, feeling he would be best placed achieving that somewhere else.

This potential was recognised with a 20% sell on clause placed in his contract at the Cherries.

This could provide good reasoning as to why Bournemouth have rejected multiple bids for Solanke, given that they will lose 20% of the fee instantly.

After spending £17 million to sign the striker, a fee would have to represent a very good profit given his quality.

Two games, one goal and an assist this season. He is a pivotal player and needs to be kept for the Cherries to achieve.

Iraola will believe he can keep hold of the Englishman and look on to the rest of the season.
